Good Morning,

I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday and that we are all ready for 2008? With the Standard Change and trying to figure out how this can be implemented this Standard properly within the Cancer Program, I would have to say, 2008 has been very busy.

A number of you at the fall meeting in 2007 had asked if the State meeting could have an earlier and/or separate meeting from our Fall meeting. This was due to the information that we received at the Fall meeting from the State was information Registrars felt they needed earlier than the Fall meeting.

The problem with this, would be our hospitals are not going to pay for two meetings a year so we are asking the State if they can't do webinars in place of a separate meeting for information that needs to reach the Registrars before the Fall meeting. Jim, I am in hopes you and Jane can help out with this and will be waiting to hear from you on this idea. I know with a trainer in place this might be a possibility?

I also want to take this time and ask if anyone out there can host our Fall meeting. It was suggested that we not get anyone to host the meeting and that the Organization hold it in Richmond in the fall. The only problem I can see with that is getting speakers. I am open to any suggestions on how to handle a meeting like that and look forward to the response I receive back.

Michael Peyton has done some fantastic work on our web site and I encourage you all to visit the web page. If you have anything you would want to add, please email me and I will get it posted. We have a few job openings on the page, so once again, please visit the site and tell us what you think!

If I can be of help to anyone, please do not hesitate to call me or email me. If you want to see changes, the only way we can do this is to voice your opinion. I look very forward to hearing from everyone.

Best Regards,

Cynthia Smith, CTR
