WELCOME all fellow scouts, scouters and friends of scouting.

The past year has been very interesting .As a pack we pulled together to form a stronger unit. With a new year coming right up we are looking foward to a larger pack with more parent particapation. Our calander is filling up fast if anyone has ideas please pass them on .The scouts of Pack 891 wish to thank any and all of you that have helped us continue our scouting program this year. It's our goal to teach the scouts to be Morally and Physicaly straight young individuals.

Summer Program Highlights

It is turning into a tradition to attend the annual free fishing day event at the Vermont Fish Hatchery in Grand Isle VT. Half of the pack attended with family. It was a little chilly for June but to my knowledge everyone had a great day. For some of the boys, they caught thier first fish. These fish aren't small little sunfish. On the average they were all 16 to 20 inch Rainbow Trout.

Next was the "Wet Wild and Wacky" Cub Day. The day was put on by our own District, Mapleleaf, And was set up by Pack 839 Cambridge Vt., at Cambridge Elem.. The weather couldn't have been better. There was a Zip line over the river ,a mechanical climbing wall and real Hum-V - all supplied by the 10th Mountain Div. "ARMY". That was a real hit! Lets see next there was a dunking booth and field games a BB gun range, super soakers, ballon toss and more. The day ended with a candy scramble!

Next was summer camp. We had 8 scouts go to camp this year with 2 full time leaders and one half week leader. Almost everyone in our group advanced a level in swimming. WAY TO GO, BOYS! I think the Whittling, Archery, and BB Target practice were the hits of the week. Thank you to all who wished for great weather - it was beautiful. The one morning it rained, the kids took rain showers from water running off the canopy. They used soap chips from their whittling projects. The water was streaming down enough, the kids eagerly washed their hair.

Thats all for now. We still have half the summer to go. Thank You ALL for helping the boys .

Scout promise
I,......., promise to do my best To do my duty to God and my Country, To help other people, and To obey the Law of the Pack.
  Law Of The Pack
The Cub Scout follows Akela. The Cub Scout helps the pack go. The pack helps the Cub Scout grow. The Cub Scout gives goodwill.

Parents and Ancient Cubbers
To continue to have a good scouting experience all scout need your help. Kids these day get bored so fast due to the fact that they have too many options. Does that make you wonder what I'm talking about? Well how about: 300 tv channels, video games, computer games, internet,etc... The list goes on. Do you remember what we used to do? Biking, walks, sleeping out in the tent (minus the leaky roof), ballgames, Evening Hide & Seek, and trying to outfish Dad. How about letting your son OR daughter experience some of these. Anything will do as long as you are there for your child. Whatever you can do to Encourage a child will ALWAYS be apprciated and applauded. GOD BLESS YOU ALL.
