Called to order at 6:45pm by Joy Ellis (VT Association President)
Introduction of members present: Representing Vermont I: Representing Vermont II: Representing Vermont III: Representing Vermont IV: Representing Red Knights International: MEETING MINUTES
Joy Ellis began the meeting with a review and discussion of the status of our Vermont Association. We have received our Charter as an association and we are Charter #11. By-Laws were reviewed and signed by all officers. These will be framed along with our Charter for preservation. A signed copy will be sent to the International. A Vermont State Association logo will be designed and presented to the board for opinions and voting. this will become the official logo of our letterhead. T-shirts, patches, business cards, etc. Hooter will be working on this and will e-mail the designs shortly. Also needed will be trademark approval from the International board upon creation and acceptance of our new logo. Again, Hooter will be working on this. It has been brought to our attention we will need our own employee identification number (E.I.N.) in order to open a checking account. We have received $500 from the International to start our account. So far chapters I, II, and III have submitted the $50 dues fee and Scooter collected $1 from everyone present for our fund. The current balance is $660. A discussion was held by all in attendance, Dave will be working to create a letter that will be sent to all of the fire departments in Vermont, giving a brief overview of our newly formed association, in hopes of recruiting more members. Vermont I handed out a copy of the recruitment flyer they created to show what they are doing to recruit new members. Don from Vermont III was approached by the organizers of the Killington Classic. They offered to have the Red Knights involved and will help to promote us. After a brief discussion, our Association will help, as a group, to raise money for Ray's Ride during the Killington Classic. A maximum of 150 bikes will be allowed to particiapte in the ride which tradionally ends in Ferrisburgh for a cook out. Don will check with Vermont IV for assistance again this year. Vermont will be hosting the Red Knights International Convention in 2013. Each chapter must have at least 1 member as a representative for a committee to help steer this task. Mount Snow has already stepped up and offered us to use their area. The committee will research and review any and all prospective areas. A report needs to be ready for presentation to the International in August at this year's convention. Each chapter please e-mail Joy with your selected representative as soon as possible.
