SAFELINE'S ANNUAL APPEAL 2016

Dear Safeline Friend,

Last year Safeline provided 2,222 crisis intervention services for 344 individuals in Orange and northern Windsor Counties. However, Safeline services go well beyond
immediate crisis intervention. We know that prevention is also imperative.

I am glad to report that we have been able to provide extensive prevention education while giving ongoing support to victims. Safeline is creating safe and sustainable futures
for survivors and their children, leading to safe and sustainable futures for the next generation.

Safeline is best known for its 24 hour, 7 days a week hotline availability. The immediate comforting guiding voice is a welcome relief to the person in crisis. Thanks to a grant
from Granite United Way, we are able to extend this assistance by providing legal advocacy for victims. We also continue working with survivors as they seek to gain financial
stability. Safeline staff assists with job readiness, résumés, preparing for interviews and finding job opportunities.

With a generous grant from the Canady Family Charitable Trust Foundation, we are now offering seventeen workshops for local schools and for youth group leaders. These
“Recognize the Signs: How Domestic Violence Affects Children and Youth” are interactive presentations about the impacts of domestic violence.

We are asking for your help with supporting survivors and for extending our prevention efforts. We have several projects for the coming year for which we are seeking financial
assistance. Specifically, your donation can help in these ways:
$35 will provide a 24-hour hotline weekend/holiday stipend.
$50 will provide a support group session for a survivor at High Horses Therapeutic program.
$110 will go towards creating a sexual assault prevention Safe Bars project.
$250 for videotaping Crisis Worker Privilege training for hotline volunteers.
$ any amount for emergency food, gas, household items for victims and their children.

Thank you for your financial support to Safeline for prevention education and ongoing services.
With sincere appreciation,

Linda Ingold
Executive Director
