Here is the much-requested instructions for the bath salts made at our last meeting!

Bath Salts

    Epsom Salt
    Baking Soda
    Sea Salt
    Food Coloring
    Scent (check at craft store)
    Zip Bag (gallon size)
    Jar
Decorative Items (ribbon, charms, tags, etc.)

Fill jar half full with Epsom Salt. Pour Epsom Salt from jar into Zip Bag. Add the following to the bag: 1/3 cup Baking Soda, 1/4 cup Sea Salt, a few drops of Food Coloring, and 1-2 Tablespoons of Scent. Zip Bag and shake until ingredients are well mixed and desired color is obtained. Pour back into Jar. Decorate Jar with Decorative Items. When using the bath salts, add about 1/2 cup of salts to water. Enjoy!

Here's another fun craft for small children to enjoy (once made!), submitted by Sharon Blumenthal.

Treasure Bottle

    1 Liter Bottle with Cap
Dry Sand - enough to fill the bottle 1/2 full
Glue - to make sure the cap is on!
Small Piece of Duct Tape - to make sure the cap stays on!
"Treasures" - anything small enough to fit into the top of the bottle (toy cars, marbles, small balls, dimes, hair barrette, jack, cute buttons, sea shells, sea glass, rocks, etc.)

Take the label off the Bottle and wash it thoroughly inside and out. Make sure the inside of the Bottle is COMPLETELY dry before moving to the next step. Put the Dry Sand into the Bottle. Fill it 1/2 full. Next, put the "Treasures" into the Bottle, making sure you write down which ones are in there! (Keep for a "map" so the kids know what they have and haven't found yet!) Put Glue around the outside of the Bottle's neck (where the cap attaches) and twist the lid on. Wipe off any excess Glue. Then put a small piece of Duct Tape around the cap. Turn the bottle upside down to mix up the "Treasures" and then let the kids have fun trying to find everything!

Great toy to take on those long car trips!
