MOPS POLICIES FOR 2009-2010

1. MOPS at Grace Community Church is for moms and their own preschoolers. Please do not bring other children that you care for daycare, relation or other. This applies to school age children who are on breaks as well (unless we publicize room available during a particular school break).

2. MOPS at Grace Community Church is a CO-OP. We are introducing a new system for childcare this year and each mom will have a childcare buddy. Each mom will be required to serve in childcare several times (3-4). IF A LAST MINUTE EMERGENCY ARISES, please call the church office at 253-833-5660 if you or your childcare buddy are not able to fulfill your childcare duty that day. There are two exceptions to serving in childcare: if you are able to bring a new volunteer childcare worker into the MOPPETS program, or if you find alternate childcare for your child/ren and you are able to attend by yourself, you will be excused... call Sandi Nichols (253-862-0625) for more information.

If you are expecting a baby anytime during the MOPS 2009-2010 season, you will be excused from serving in childcare, should you feel you need it, one month prior to your due date and up to two months after the birth of your baby.

3. After three consecutive absences from MOPS childcare check-in, your child’s reserved spot in the MOPS program will be forfeited.

4. Please refrain from ‘checking’ on your children. The workers may have settled your little one down. If your child sees you, then the process needs to begin again. Should your child have difficulty, you will be alerted. If you have a specific concern, please see Sandi Nichols (MOPPETS Coordinator) and they will be happy to check on your child for you.

5. Please adhere to the sick child policy and do not bring your children if they are sick. For example, fever (up to 24 hours previous), green runny nose, etc. If you could make arrangements for their care elsewhere then you would still be welcome to attend.

6. No children older than four months in the MOPS meeting room. Their safety is at risk with hot coffee cups, glue guns, cords, etc. Please keep in mind that even a newborn can be disruptive with his/her vocalizing. If your child becomes noisy, please take the initiative to move from the room for the sake of others. This will spare us the awkwardness of asking you to step out.

7. There is a flat fee of $4.00 per meeting. This covers a variety of expenses. Whether you choose to participate in any one certain activity or not, the cost will be the same. The $23.95 registration fee is an annual charge that goes to MOPS International and among other perks, enrolls you into the “MOPS-to-Mom Connection.”

8. Each discussion group will be assigned to bring a brunch items approximately once a month. These can be fruit platters, coffee cakes, muffins, quiche, veggie trays etc. (Let your imagination be your guide!) When bringing a dish, please provide enough food for 12-15 people (i.e. 9x13). Please label your dishes well; address labels work great. Do not bring serving items, as they are provided.

9. Please be committed to attendance. After three consecutive absences your reserved spot in the program will be forfeited and given to one of the many moms on the waiting list. Absences for sickness, yours or your child’s are excused if you let us know.
