Tree House Project The goal of the Treehouse project is to provide winter wear, specifically hats and mittens, to foster children in the King County area. For more information about the Treehouse organization and the work they do, go to Tree House 4 Kids. Donated items can be sewn, knitted or crocheted and are needed in sizes from newborn all the way up to 18 years of age. All items should be made from machine washable materials. Donations should be mailed to Kim Swingle (see membership book for mailing address or contact Kim at kim.swingle@att.com) by no later than September 15th. If possible, please let Kim know in advance what items you will be providing and in what sizes. This will help her ensure that we are providing a good variety of choices and sizes for children of all ages. If you do not have experience with sewing or needlecrafts, donations of fabric or yarn are always happily accepted. Free patterns (knitting/crochet) for hats and mittens can be found at the following websites: Lion Brand Yarn (requires registration, patterns are very reliable) Knitting Pattern Central (excellent resource for hat patterns – knitting) Mittens & Gloves (excellent resource for mitten & glove patterns – knitting) For further details about this project or answers to any questions you might have, please feel free to contact Kim Swingle at kim.swingle@att.com |
