Shampoo and Conditioner Hair-Type Tips

IF YOU HAVE THICK HAIR-

We suggest using conditioner to keep hair soft, but if your scalp tends to be oily, lay off conditioner at the roots.
Also try a gel if your hair likes to get out of control.
IF YOU HAVE THIN HAIR-
Use conditioner only on the ends if necessary... it can weigh down your hair. If your hair looks healthy, skip conditioner. Don't let natural oils weigh you down! Use a volumizing shampoo! It's also best to wash your hair in the morning.
IF YOU HAVE CURLY/COURSE HAIR-
Use conditioner every time you use shampoo! Natural oils don't spread easily on YOUR hair and so your hair gets dry! If your hair is still dry, try using a deep-conditioning treatment once or twice a month. It will help. A leave-in conditioner will also help curls hold thier shape.
IF YOU HAVE MEDIUM HAIR-
If your hair seems, looks and feels healthy, you probably don't need ANY styling products. But it's a good idea to use conditioner once in a while, but not every day. If you're oily at the roots, wash your hair with an oily hair shampoo.
IF YOU ARE A MIX-
Try mixing some of these techniques from your mixed answers in the quiz!
 Styling Tricks For Hair-Types

IF YOU HAVE THICK HAIR-
A haircut with long layers can help thin thick hair a little bit. If you want to curl your hair, spray or rub in gel before using rollers. To straighten thick hair, pull straight down with a flat brush and aim a blow-dryer pointed down, too.
IF YOU HAVE THIN HAIR-
Too much length will weigh down your hair and make it flat. Try bangs or a few layers around your face to give it a fuller look. You can give your hair an extra boost by blow-drying upside-down. You might wanna experiment with styling mousse for more body and hold.
IF YOU HAVE CURLY HAIR-
Whenever you can let your hair air-dry! It will help your curls stay. Too much blow-drying isn't good for ANY hair- it will dry it out. If you DO blow-dry (gotta hurry!) attach a diffuser that will cut down on the hot air, so you can prevent frizzing.
IF YOU HAVE MEDIUM HAIR-
Medium hair is fairly easy to style. But be careful! Too much hot sun, blow-drying, over-brushing and hot curling can dry out your hair--- FAST! Protect your hair by wearing a hat, and using moisturizing shampoo and/or conditioner. You may also wanna try leave-in conditioner on the ends.
IF YOU ARE A MIX-
Depending on which choices you mixed on in the quiz, use these tips to make a combo!

Make Some Waves

If you want wavy hair for a day... follow these steps!
1. Take a shower. Don't dry your hair.
2. Put braids in your hair. Please Note: The more brainds you place, the wavier it will be!
3. GO TO SLEEP! (zzz)
4. When you wake up, undo your braids. Finger-comb your hair (you can use a hair-pick, too but not too much. (If your hair is TOO wavy, use an actual brush and brush your hair to tone it down!)
5. Enjoy the waves!
...And get compliments if its a job well done (it DOES take practice to know how many and the size of braids! You might have to fiddle around until its just right!)
 Barber Shop Tips

Here are some tips to getting your hair done in a new 'do!:
1. Bring a picture of the cut you want (magazines, sketches, and old pictures work). If you can't find any, make sure you can clearly say what you want.
2. Be realistic. If you have thin and short hair, the haircut won't make it long and full. Ask your stylist if the cut works with your tip.
3. Tell the stylist how mcuh time you have. the last thing you need is a 'do needing a 45 minute blow-dry.
4. Don't be shy! If the water is too hot or cold, TELL THE STYLIST!
5. Sit up straight! Watch things in the mirror!
6. Speak up if you don't like the cut. A stylist can probably make some last minute changes!
7. Before you leave, ask for styling tips!
8. Enjoy the look! Healthy hair that makes you happy is IMPORTANT!
