 What we Did
For our service learning project we volunteered at the Lifelong AIDS Alliance (www.lifelongaidsalliance.org). To find them we used the phone book and after contacting them we found available dates. When they called back, we had found that two dates worked. We did both of them. One of our group members couldn't come on one of the volunteering dates, but that didn't matter. Don't let obstacles get in your way. We worked a bit at the AIDS Alliance food bank (and learned a lot about AIDS food banks in the process!) and also stood outside of a supermarket and collected food for the food bank. After volunteering we spent time making this website, and reflecting on our experiences. One of the good things about volunteering is, it is fun because it is often hard work and you are helping other people. But remember, no matter how fun this work is: Your aim is to help others, not to help yourself. |
