| WELCOME TO THE KIRKLAND WOMAN'S CLUB
. . . . . . . a non-profit charitable organization bringing together women from Kirkland and surrounding areas to promote friendliness and welfare locally, regionally, and internationally, with monthly luncheon meetings, coffee socials, an annual High Tea and Musical Revue, and charitable projects such as elder advocacy, Hopelink, cancer research, Operation Smile, and other local and international causes. The Kirkland Woman's Club (KWC) is part of the General Federation of Women's Clubs (GFWC), an international organization founded in 1890 for the betterment of society, through a variety of community improvement projects. KWC is located across from City Hall in the historic original Kirkland Library and Health Clinic. It is listed on the State of Washington Historical Register and the National Register of Historic Places. In addition to providing a gracious setting for our various Club activities, the facility is available to rent for such functions as wedding receptions, memorial services, or recurring business meetings. It accommodates up to 99 guests, and features a concert-sized Steinway grand piano, perfect for music recitals or receptions. Unlike single-issue organizations, GFWC's structure allows clubs to address the emerging needs of individual communities and the nation and to respond quickly to calls for help.
