CHECKOUT POLICIES

Students may check out books for a one week period. They can be renewed twice for one week each time. Books can be placed on hold if currently checked out by others.

There are no fines for overdue books, but there is a 2 book limit per student so they must refrain from further checkouts until the books are returned. They may be returned anytime to the book drop.

3 Exciting New Reading Incentive Programs

Book It!

Each month your child will receive a "Book-It" Reading Incentive Chart. The goal is for each child to read 20 minutes for 20 days each month. Bedtime stories and classroom reading homework can be counted.

At the end of the month when your child returns the completed form they will get a star by their name on the class charts outside the library and a certificate from Pizza Hut for a personal pan pizza.

Paige Turner

Paige Turner is lost in a book again, and she needs your help. A mysterious librarian has cast a spell that traps her in the World of Books. Each month you read the message for clues to Paige's whereabouts - then, to free her, choose which book has Paige trapped this month. Name the book's title and author, and answer one question on the entry form. Return your completed entry form to Ms. Dial in the library.

The Paige Turner collection is available in the library but since we have only one copy of each book, they must be read in the library and not checked out.

When you have the answers you'll be eligbible to win a $25 certificate for the Bon or Barnes & Noble. Your entry can also help your school library win a $50 certificate for books, or your school win a $200 certificate.

Books and Bagels

Books and Bagels is a book club for grade 4 & 5 students. We meet at 8 am on the dates below to discuss a book we have all agreed to read. Enjoyable conversations about characters, plot and problem solving will take place.
