The following opportunities are immediately available:

Help a first grader with reading for 30 minutes anytine during the school day, five days each week. Call Suzy ( 252 2172)for additional info.

Looking for tech savvy volunteers who have a flexible schedule and can work with teachers to videotape/take pictures of students.

Library help needed Wednesdays 11:50-12:20.
Help Kindergartenerns find and check out books.

Sue Schultz has requested volunteers for her Read Naturally program 2:30-3pm on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays.

ROUTE LEADERS NEEDED FOR WALKING SCHOOLBUS
Walking school bus "route drivers" are needed. If you are interested in signing up to lead a route on any Moving Monday, Traveling Tuesday, Walking Wednesday, Thrilling Thursday, or Fuel Free Firday, please contact Lyon Terry Lyterry@seattleschools.org

MANY WAYS TO SUPPORT LAWTON
There are many opportunities for parents who want to support Lawton, but are unable to help during the 9:05 am to 3:10pm school day. *Attend PTA general and board meetings. Offer to give a ride so others can also attend. *Send a ream of copy paper to school. *Send canned fruits & vegetables to school for our food drives. *Take part in Secret Garden and Lawton Beautification Team work parties. *Attend Lawton BLT meetings. *Ask your child’s teacher if they have any projects that could use your help ( book orders, class newsletters, class web page, etc.) *Shop at the Magnolia Thriftway and save your receipts. The store gives Lawton 1% of recipts the school submits. *Save your Campbell soup labels and "Box Tops for Education" labels. *Designate your United Way contribution to go to Lawton. Find out if your employer makes matching donations to 501C3 organizations. *If you are unable to help during the day, is there another family member ( grandparent, aunt, uncle, etc.) that would be willing to help? Anyone who is willing to complete the WA State Patrol criminal background check is welcome at Lawton. *Every Wednesday the Lawton PTA sends out the weekly newsletter via email. Be sure to read it so you can keep up to date on what’s happening at your child’s school.
