As I have observed in the past, many readers prefer romantical or erotic stories. Now I am not the mistress of romance. The muse does not seem to be very romantic either, but we enjoy defintily to write steamy stories.

Not everyone likes the way I describe elves and their lusty behavior.

And there is something else that the muse and I have faced. Well it is not a problem for us, but some people do not like it. I am talking about SLASH. Slash means homoerotic stories of two male or female elves.

The woman in my story is remembering the spring rites of the celts in Western Europe. These have nearly nothing to do with the nowadays so popular irish celts.

Young man were chosen and for two weeks they could eat and drink and have sexual intercourse with whoever they wanted, then in the night that spring was officially announced, he was killed so his blood would satisfy the goddess.

The rites that Maeglin is preparing are known as Hieros Gamos, which where/are fertility rites of the old Sumeran Culture in the Middle East. Here the priest and his wife got engaged in a sexual act which was accompanied with a giant feast. These rites were later transferred to Europe, where the king and his queen celebrated the sacred marriage (before the first migration of peoples around 2000 B.C).

In certain ways....some pagan/new age religions including the many of the "modern" celts perform the Hieros Gamos again, worshipping the female and the male gods.
