What Is MOPS? MOPS (Mothers of PreSchoolers) is an international organization for all moms of infants to kindergarteners (expectant women, too!) MOPS provides an opportunity to meet other moms in the area and enjoy the journey of motherhood together! We meet on a regular basis to socialize, share struggles, laugh, and learn how to become better mommies and grow as women. What makes MOPS unique? MOPS isn't just another playgroup. We do so much more than just socialize and have fun (though we do have lots of that!) MOPS seeks to equip you to become the best mom and woman you can be through a strong support network of women who are in the same stage of motherhood as you are, through relevant speakers and discussions catered to meet the unique needs of mothers of young children. OUR MEETINGS Our groups meet the 1st and 3rd Thursday of each month; the morning group from 9:30-11:30AM, including breakfast (yum!), and the Evening group from 5:30-7:30PM, including a light appetizer type dinner (double yum!). Once a month we listen to a speaker (topics vary month to month) and once a month make a craft together (that we get to start and finish without any interruptions and with no mess to clean up!) Each meeting includes social time, as well as discussion time to talk and get to know each other on a more personal level. CHILDCARE Childcare is available for children ages 0-6 (Kindergarteners). Newborns up to six months are welcome to stay with you during the meeting or make use of the loving nursery. Our childcare is provided with your paid registration. No additional fee is collected! Children enjoy a fun program called MOPPETS. This is a curriculum with stories, crafts, and snacks and offers a fun, engaging environment for your preschooler. Each childcare worker goes through a background check and is trained to ensure that your child is in the best of hands. The childcare is just downstairs (nursery even closer next to the meeting space) so you can be reached easily if your child needs you! COST Becoming a member of MOPS International (required, but includes some fun benefits!) is only $23.95 for the year. Perks include: a 1 year subscription to MOMSense magazine, a book entitled Life on Planet Mom, and more. We charge a local fee of $75 for the entire year through May, that is 16 meetings. (That’s less than $5 per meeting!) This fee covers the cost of our speakers, craft materials, advertising, curriculum, door prizes, and everything else that helps make MOPS happen! Check the Registration Page for payment options. If you know someone who needs MOPS but may not be able to afford it, please contact us. Scholarships are available and will always remain confidential. Please also visit MOPS International at: www.mops.org "Where two or three come together in my name, there I am with them."
