We are currently seeking MOPPET caregivers
for our 2009-2010 MOPS year.

MOPPETS is the loving child care and activity program for the children of our MOPS Moms provided during our meetings. MOPS could not happen without the hardwork and dedication of our MOPPETS volunteers!

If you or someone you know would like to make a difference in the lives of mothers and their families, please contact Courtney Brooks at 360 - 929 - 0095 for our PM meetings, or Jenny Johnson at 360 - 675 - 3845 for our AM meetings.

To know the positive, life-changing impact a MOPPETS volunteer makes on the lives of our MOPS moms, please visit our "What MOPS Has Meant to Me" page on this website.

MOPPETS Program

The Moppets program is the childcare and learning program for our children. It is a very important part of MOPS. Infants and toddlers will receive safe and loving care, while the older children will enjoy learning programs based on Bible stories and fun crafts and activities. The children enjoy and are proud of the crafts they make in class. Please remember to take them home and ask questions about what they have learned at MOPS.

Dropping off and Picking up: Every MOPS morning your child must be signed in and receive a name tag. Please find your child’s nametag and clip it on them as you drop them off with their teacher. These name tags are not to go home. Children can be dropped off at their classroom after 9:15. Drop off can be stressful for both mother and child. We ask that you help your child feel comfortable by getting them engaged in a toy or activity, say good-bye, notify the caregiver you are leaving, then leave the room. It is normal for your child to cry. If they continue to cry longer than 10 minutes we will notify you. When picking up your child, please be prompt. Children are to be picked up at 11:30. If you are helping after the meeting please pick up your children first.

Snacks: Snacks will be provided for the children each MOPS morning. If you have an infant, please bring whatever food, milk they will need for the meeting. If you child has a food allergy make sure to write that on the sign in sheet in the comments section.

Bringing items from home: Please make sure that each item brought from home is labeled with the child’s name. This is especially important for infants and children with bottles, pacifiers, sippy cups, blankets and special toys. Please label these items BEFORE you get to MOPS. If you forget we will have masking tape and markers at the registration table.

Illness: Children who show signs of illness such as fever, productive cough and nasal discharge that is anything other than clear will NOT be accepted into class. Mothers will be notified to pick up their child if they become ill during the meeting. We will be asking older children to sanitize their hands before entering the classroom. We hope to keep the risk of infection to a minimum during the upcoming flu season. We will also sanitize toys after each meeting.

Thank you for your cooperation and hope you and your children have a blessed and enjoyable year in MOPS.
