Members have asked for an internet message board or chat, so we are giving this a try.

NSFOM Members is a private web site we created only for members of the North Seattle Families of Multiples. It is a site where we can share information and exchange ideas on raising multiples, meet and keep up with other members of our club and share photos of our families or NSFOM events. This site has been set up as a private MSN web community. The only way to access this site is to join the community. Every application to join this community is screened to make sure they are members of the North Seattle Families of Multiples.

Why should I join the NSFOM private web site?

  • You can get advice about parenting multiples by posting a question on the message board and having other members answer it.
  • You can meet other NSFOM members with similar interests.
  • You can post a photo of your multiples for others to see.
  • Members can set up scheduled chat sessions with other members.
  • You can read other members' recommendations on books, web sites, or other topics.

How do I join the NSFOM Members web site?

Step 1: In order to access the private web site, you need a Microsoft Passport. This permits you to join the Microsoft community where our site is located and allows us to ensure that our site is private, granting access to members only. To set up a Microsoft Passport, go to http://www.passport.com and click on "Sign Up for a Free Passport". You will need to answer some questions: your e-mail address (this will be your passport sign-in name), a password for your passport, the state, country and zip you live. When you set it up, it will send you an e-mail note to verify your Microsoft Passport. You need to do this before you can get to our private site.

Step 2: Go to http://communities.msn.com/NSFOMMembers, enter your passport name and password then click on the "Apply to Join this Community" button. It will ask for a nickname for you on the web site. Please use your first and last name (you can have a space between them). You will also be asked for a profile. This can be left blank, or if you feel comfortable, feel free to give some information on you and your multiples (date of birth, weights, zygosity, etc.). When finished, click on the Join Now button. This sends a request to our web manager who will then accept your invitation if you are an NSFOM member. This process may take a day or so for the web manager to verify membership.

How do I get to the NSFOM members site once I join?

Go to http://www.orgsites.com/wa/nsfom and click on "Internet Community" in the top left hand corner of the page to get this link or bookmark http://communities.msn.com/NSFOMMembers. Each time you go to the site, you must use your Passport sign-in name and password. This keeps the web site private, only allowing you to visit if you are a valid member.
