Welcome To Cub Scout Pack 495's  Web Site!

Pack 495 is located in the Renton Highlands which is just south east of Seattle. Most of the boys attend Maplewood Heights Elementary School, where we have our monthly pack meetings.

As you can tell we like to have fun. The 6th Annual Pinewood Derby was another fun event. Thanks to all of the many parent volunteers who made it a great success and to all the boys who built their cars(with a little of Dad's help). The boys work with someone in their family to make the cars and everyone is a winner. Some of the cars in the best of show catagories are shown. 2005 PHOTOS 2004 PHOTOS

Once a month the cub master sponsors a hike or service project that all boys and their families are encouraged to participate in.

April Pack Meeting - Everyone Got Wrapped Up With the Egyptian Theme.

Mummy Wrapping Contest

The boys had a great time at the April pack meeting. They started out with a pyramid building contest using marshmellows and rice crispy treats while listening to "Dance Like an Egyptian". Followed up by the mummy wrapping contest of their den leaders. See all the phone, MORE PHOTOS

Every year pack 495 canvases the community distributing flyers for xmas tree donations then follows up with the pickup. This year was a big success with half of the donations going toward the annual budget and the other halof going to pay for the boys summer camp. 2005 PHOTOS 2004 PHOTOS

As summer came early to Seattle the boys headed outside for our annual Rain Gutter Regatta. The boys craft and paint their boats and come prepared with their lips puckered for a good blow. This was the first year where we awarded prizes (bag o candy) for the top finisher. MORE PHOTOS

Christmas Caroling at Evergreen Retirement Home

2003 Christmas Caroling Event

The boys turned out in good numbers to sing their favorite songs for our local seniors. As usual the favorite song was the scout version of Rudolf the Red Nose Reindeer(like a light bulb :-)). Good fun was had by all at the annual Christmas Caroling event!

This is one of many events the boys take part in during the year to make their community a little better. Every March the boys spend two weekends collecting canned goods for Scouting for Food. All collected food goes to local food banks.
