September 6, 2011

Meeting was called to order at 6:35 by President Laura Jongeward.

New PTO Officers were introduced to the group.

The May Treasurer's report and minutes were approved as written.

Jessica Deutsch talked about the need for volunteers this year and reviewed the Fall opportunities. The sign-up folders for each activity were reviewed and passed around individually.

Paula Price talked about the Windsor Facebook page. She will be updating that this year. She will be posting updates throughout the year and posting PTO minutes. There was even talk of creating a Classifieds within the page for the Windsor community and adding links to the school district homepage.

Nan Miller talked about her ideas for the Fall Carnival this year. She is planning on expanding that outside in a large tent to accomodate a pumpkin patch and pumpkin decorating station. A photo booth was also suggested as an idea. We will discuss these and other ideas for the carnival in depth at the next meeting. A budget increase was passed, increasing it from $4000 to $5000 for this year. Sabrina Richardson talked about the upcoming Fall Fundraiser. There will be an assembly on Sept. 16th to kick-off the event. Order forms will be due back on Sept. 27th. The products will arrive on Oct. 24th. That will be the main pick-up day. Any leftover items will be delivered at the parent teacher conferences. .

Mr. Songaylo introduced himself and welcomed everyone.

New Business:

Denise Peabody discussed EScrip and the opportunity for Windsor to earn money through this program.

Cori Draper talked about the School Directory. Notices will be coming home soon allowing people to opt into the Directory. The goal is to have them delivered by Nov.1st. It was passed to leave the budget at $700, same as last year.

This year there are new surprises!!! Don't forget to dress according to the weather as many of the activities are outside. Avoid long ticket lines and buy your tickets during pre-sale this week! (10th-14th)
