The odyssey space craft probe was circling Mars and it discovered that there was a big mass of ice two feet below the surface of Mars. The scientists think that if there can be ice on Mars than there can possibility that there is life on Mars. The NASA scientists were very excited that they discovered water on Mars. The odyssey discovered that there is trilloins of gallons of Ice on Mars. That is more double the time amount of ice in lake Michigan which has 75 trillions gallons of ice. In 2001 they launched another space probe.
The ice may have supported life in the past when the planet was warmer and water flowed on the surface. It is possible that the ice could harbor life today.

The Odyssey has detected trillions of gallons of ice, more than doubled the 75 trillion gallons of water that fill Lake Michigan.

The results are being published in Friday's issue of journal science.
