Old Business

·         Reflections- Rae Anne Niles introduced two of the students along with their families to share their literature that both Rae Lynn Niles and Mollie Wang will be awarded a certificate from the Reflections program at the National Convention held in Green Bay WI on Sat April 26th.

·         Angie Nelson who coordinated both the Character Magic for k-5 and the Prismatic light show for 6-8th hand such a great response from students as well as thank you cards from classrooms to thank PTA for such a great program. Feedback for the k-5th program was just ok. At reviewing the material for the light show PTA could always do light show for both grade levels.

·         Fundraising- Mr. Z’s Red Apple is requesting that we again for the school year 2007-2008 use them for our fundraising for the fall. It was voted on and majority vote says we continue using them for the fundraising. Angie Nelson will notify Scott and Mary Halbeib from the company of the decision. The Mega Party will be discussed at a future meeting to discuss when to have.

·         Officer nominating committee- Andrea Cavener has been promoting PTA and the open positions that we currently have. Sarah White has requested to be on the ballot for V.P. and Julie Fugate for the treasurer, Audrey O’Brien for secy. All that is requesting to be on the ballot needs to have this information to Andrea Cavener or Angie Nelson by the next meeting.

New Business

·         Family Fun Night- Angie Nelson has spoken with Carrie the program director for Action Territory and a date for Tuesday Amy 13th 5-8p.m. will be for the Bristol Students along with their immediate families to participate with one free go kart ride, 20 tokens, 1 jump shot, unlimited mini golf, and ballocity. No laser tag will be allowed. The cost to PTA will again be $4 per person.

·         Teachers Appreciation Week- Melody Ferruzzi and Andrea Cavener have planned a theme week of Fiesta for the Teachers. Since we had teachers present the week long events were not all talked about but they did include raffles everyday, Monday a.m. breakfast and Friday lunch time a Munchies fiesta to include non alcoholic smoothies. The Teachers Appreciation week did ask for an increase in their budget, it was voted on and majority vote agreed to increase their budget to $500 this money will be taken from the funds received at the fall dance. Great job ladies.

·         8th grade graduation- Angie Nelson will be chair of this committee since she has a 7th grade student. A flyer will be going out next week to request parent and student volunteers to help with the planning, decorating and set-up and clean-up for Friday May 30th graduation. Anyone interested in helping out please contact Angie Nelson.

·         Bylaws Committee Carrie Ware is the chair for Wisconsin PTA and will also be our chair for the review of the bylaws for next years board. Rae Niles, Lisa Wadin, Andrea Cavener, Angie Nelson, Theresa Bohr will be part of this committee to report back to Mays meeting the review of the bylaws changed for approval.

·         Kenosha County Fair- Again Wendy Farrell will be the chair for this. Flyers went home to all the students to come up with a slogan for the Bristol School area in the education building to display the student’s artwork. Wendy is also in need of volunteers to help with putting up and taking down the art work. Please contact Wendy Farrell if interested.

·         Angie Nelson reported that Mr. Ryczek has now requested that any teacher who has a request for PTA put it in writing and he will then review and provide PTA with a top 10 list of items that PTA could consider purchasing.

·         Angie Nelson proposed that we have a group of members that brainstorm ideas for next year which could include a family get together at the school one week prior to the start of school year. This would include a potluck provided along with PTA donating the main food and beverages. Angie Nelson would consider chairing this if it was of interest to the group. Angie Nelson will report back to the committee.

Meeting adjourned at 7:45p.m.

Next meeting is Tuesday May 20th at 6:30p.m. In the school library
