PTA Minutes from General PTA Meeting - September 15, 2009

In attendance: Teri Nosek, Andrea Cavener, Lisa Wadin, Erin Miner, Jackie Rittmer, Judy Meyers, Jennifer Grubbs, Jane Kurylo, Paul L, Marge Varty, Kara Thomas, Melody Feruzzi, Angie Nelson, Wendy Farrell, Deb Andrekus, Shannon Lance, Karen Elfering, Amy Hanson, Rick Deegan, BethAnn Christiansen, Chris Therman, Mrs. Steurmer

Meeting called to order at 6:35 p.m. by Teri Nosek.
Call to order and Introductions around the room.

Chairperson Reports:

FUNDRAISER/Walk-a-Thon and Membership Angie Nelson: Chair Only 5% have turned in their paperwork at this point. May need to put out a reminder notice again telling people what the PTA pays for and what the prizes are and lengthen time to turn in paperwork for T-shirt to Friday.There is a set raindate of October 3rd if necessary. Lengthy discussion about Walk-a-Thon as this is our first time doing it.

BUDGET - Wendy Farrell: Chair Need more time to go over in full next month.

FALL DANCE - Melody Feruzzi: ChairCan save $200 by not having a DJ and seeing if older kids would do it. Airbrush tattoos and body art $100. Will have bake sale.

REFLECTIONS - Lisa Wadin: Chair Sent out introductory letter to teachers and students. Will send out the detailed information and deadline in beginning of October. Also sent out sheet for students to pick theme for next years Reflections.

BOX TOPS - Nikki Vineyard: Chair (not here...Teri Nosek had information) Huge increase from year before. Sheets with 10 per go over well with students.

DIRECTORY - Erin Miner: ChairWill look into being able to add e-mail addresses to directory and try to get more responses for it this year. Any company donating to the Walk-a-Thon will be advertised in the directory free of charge.

CAMPBELL'S LABELS: Haven't sent in for quite some time. Angie Nelson is working on this.

MARKET DAY - Shannon Lance, Lisa Wadin: Chairs Are now taking Quest Cards, participating in WI food share. Make sure customers are prepaying if they can't pickup on sale date.

LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE: is September 18-19-20. Teri Nosek and Andrea Cavener will be attending.

PROGRAMS: Andrea Cavener Tentative schedule from September through May. Culver's Nights are new as well as Holiday Shoppe which will be chaired by Shannon Lance. Parent Teacher Conference Snacks in November and February will be chaired by Lisa Wadin. Possible WTMJ Newscaster appearance as well as possible PineView Animal Rescue Appearance. Teacher Appreciation Week in May Chaired by Melody Feruzzi and Andrea Cavener.

Teri Nosek asked members if they could look into different Fundraising opportunities such as programs at McDonalds and Woodmans with their reciepts.
