Special Thank You to our outgoing Vice-president Lisa Wadin for her dedication to the children and youth at Bristol School and support of Bristol PTA!
General Meetings are held on the third Tuesday of the month. All are welcomed.
- No matter how old your children are, know where they are, whom they are with, and what they are doing. This helps prevent problems and shows your kids that you care about them.
- Never use spanking or other forms of physical punishment with your child. An occasional swat on the rear end is okay as an attention-getter, but it should never be the punishment.
- You can criticize a child's behavior, but never criticize the child.
- Never verbally put down your child. there's a difference between correcting your child and attacking your child.
- Be a "5-to-1" parent. Every time you give your cild a consequence for misbehavior, provide five opportunities for him or her to earn your praise or a reward.
- To promote the welfare of children and youth in home, school, community, and place of worship
- To raise the standards of home life
- To secure adequate laws for the care and protection of children and youth
- To bring into close relation the home and the school that parents and teachers may cooperate intelligently in the educaton of children and youth
- To develope between educators and the general public such united efforts as will secure for all children and youth the highest advantages in physical, mental, social, and spiritual education

Bristol PTA holds monthly meetings in the school library on the third Tuesday of the month at 6:30 pm. These are open meetings and all are welcomed to attend. If you wish to be added to the agenda, please contact the President.

MEMBERSHIP
Bristol PTA invites you to become a member and make a difference in the education and quality of life for all children. Parents, teachers and community working together to help improve a school is what the PTA is all about.
Membership is $5.00 per member.Membership Form
Get Dads Involved!
We are accepting membership for the 2008-2009 school year.
Complete the membership form and send it, along with your dues, to the PTA through your child's teacher. Your membership cards along with our very popular magnetic calendar will be available in August.
We at PTA encourage fathers to get involved in the lives of children. PTA is not a mothers group that just bakes cookies!
According to a study done by the U.S. Department of Education, children are more likely to do well academically and participate in extracurricular activities if their fathers are actively involved. Furthermore, children are less likely to drop out of school or repeat a grade when fathers are around to provide a positive influence in their lives.
