Fundraisers Every year the Cascade Mountain has fundraisers to help support the costs of the team. Grey Whitney takes high quality photos, sells them, and gives the profits to the team. To buy these pictures you can go to the link titled "Buy/View Pictures,” on the bottom-left hand side of the page. Another fundraiser is selling stickers that read "Cascade Mountain Ski Team.” They are selling for 5 dollars each. All proceeds go to our ski team. You can purchase one of these stickers for your car or any other place. To buy these you can go to the Rob's Roost where there will be coaches or parents that can sell them to you. An example of the sticker is in the top left hand corner of the home page. Thanks for your support.

When we practice... What about races...
We practice every Thursdays and Saturdays starting December 1st. On Thursdays we practice at 6:15-8:00 and on Saturdays we practice from 9:15-12:00. Before each practice the team gathers at "Rob's Roost," which a building just below the run "Ptarmigan." This is where we store our equipment and where you can store you bags. Rob's Roost is heated and it has a small kitchen. The kitchen includes a refrigerator where you may store snacks or meals. Parents may relax in Rob's Roost when their kids are attending practice. Use of the Roost is only for the ski team and ski patrol. There are restrooms in the Roost and it is generally a nice place to get away from the general public. All races are on Saturdays and Sundays throughout the ski season, though you are not required to show up at any races. The team races at various ski hills throughout the Midwest including our very own Cascade Mountain. At the end of the season, in March, we also have a fun race in Marquette, Michigan for skiers who want to ski for some pure enjoyment. Look on our calendar for exact dates and times.
 What we do at practice...
Our practice consists of highly skilled coaches teaching the ski team members the basic skiing skills. We are grouped with students of the same age/skill on Saturdays and we run the kids through the gates on Thursday nights. We also encourage racers to participate in Nastar on Saturdays after practice.

About the races...
We participate in four races throughout the ski season. Our first race is held at Galena Illinois on January 10th and 11th. The ski hill at Galena is called Chestnut Mountain. Our second race is at Dubuque, Iowa on January 24th and 25th. At Dubuque the ski hill is Sundown Mountain. The third race is on February 7th and 8th. It is held at our very own Cascade Mountain. The final race is on February 28th and March 1st. It is held at Tyrol Basin. We have a lot of fun at the races when we are watching and cheering our teammates on. After the races there are award ceremonies held somewhere on the hill. Participating in the races is highly recommended.

 What we do after practice...
After practices we usually free ski. We are allowed to use Rob's Roost for the rest of the day and the rest of the night. We also can participate in Nastar. Nastar is a racing league that is for the public. Since your child is participating in the racing program, they may use Nastar for free. The drawback is that you may have to wait until the paying public has finished their racing.
