C.    Topics and changes for upcoming PTO meetings:

·       The March 18th Board Meeting has been cancelled and a General Meeting have been  scheduled instead on March 11, 2008 to discuss with Matt Gibson the High School Referendum. It is of great importance to have a good showing at that meeting—encourage others to attend! There will be a note in the Herald, e-mails will be send, invitations will go on the Thursday Folders.

Treasurers Report: Dawn and Bill Brauer

A.     Update of budget and financial statement

Checking account balance is $36821.87

Final results of Book Fair and Pasta Night are down from actual budgeted amounts.

Pasta Night resulted in $413.74 instead of the estimated $500. It was decided to change the type of food for next year’s Party and the theme will be decided at the beginning of the next school year. Some suggestions were Pizza, Chili, BBQ or Chinese Night.

The Book Fair is down from the estimated amount due to the free gift book every child received from the PTO. The gift book might not be something done every year but rather to be decided annually.

There are events to come like the Hawk Walk & Run which are difficult to predict since it is the first year of the event that can greatly change the outcome of the budget.

B.      Room Parent party receipts need to be turned in by Leap Day: Feb. 29th

Room Parents need to inform parent volunteers to turn in receipts.

·       There will be a note on the Herald about new procedures resulting from the teachers’ contract negotiations with the District. The spring parent-teacher conferences are optional rather than mandatory. With this note it is very important to let your teacher know of your desire to hold the spring conference.
