HEY Everyone.

Yes we are still here and working hard behind the scenes getting ready for the new Legislative session and getting in touch with the Representatives to see what side of the fence they are on when it comes to animals issues. Join us in giving a voice to those who can not speak for them selves.

WE DID IT We said no to Puppy Mills and Assembly Bill 250 was passed on 11/05/2009 . Thanks to all of you on behalf of Halfpint and Bear and so many others like them.

Justice 4 Halfpint has shrunk in numbers due to in part some people's vanity and loss of interest caused by the lengthy Justice and political systems. We will still be working very hard to shut down puppymills and to stop dog auctions and are pushing even harder for LAWS to protect the animals. With yet more stories appearing in the News Papers and T.V. that link celeberties to Dogfighting and yet more Animal Abuse and Neglect now more then ever we must continue to use our voices to speak up for the animals Of Wisconsin. I hope you enjoy the site and the updates. Thank You for Your Continual Support.

Please Meet Someone we could all learn from.

Officer Brutus

My kind of dog!

Please meet Brutus, a military K9 at McChord. He's huge - part Boxer and part British Bull Mastiff and tops the scales at 200 lbs. His handler took the picture. Brutus is running toward me because he knows I have some Milk Bone treats, so he's slobbering away! I had to duck around a tree just before he got to me in case he couldn't stop, but he did. Brutus won the Congressional Medal of Honor last year from his tour in Iraq . His handler and four other soldiers were taken hostage by insurgents. Brutus and his handler communicate by sign language and he gave Brutus the signal that meant 'go away but come back and find me'. The Iraqis paid no attention to Brutus. He came back later and quietly tore the throat out of one guard at one door and another guard at another door. He then jumped against one of the doors repeatedly (the guys were being held in an old warehouse) until it opened. He went in and untied his handler and they all escaped. He's the first K9 to receive this honor.. If he knows you're ok, he's a big old lug and wants to sit in your lap. Enjoys the company of cats. K-9 Congressional Medal of Honor Winner .

Thought you'd find this interesting. Talk about animal intelligence and bonding with humans! Remember that they can't do a lot of things for themselves and that they depend on you to make their life a quality life!

A PET'S TEN COMMANDMENTS..........,

1. My life is likely to last 10-15 years. Any separation from you is likely to be painful.
2. Give me time to understand what you want of me
3. Place your trust in me. It is crucial for my well-being.
4. Don't be angry with me for long and don't lock me up as
punishment. You have your work, your friends, your
entertainment, but I have only you.
5. Talk to me. Even if I don't understand your words, I do understand your voice when speaking to me.
6. Be aware that however you treat me, I will never forget it.
7. Before you hit me, before you strike me, remember that I
could hurt you, and yet, I choose not to bite you.
8. Before you scold me for being lazy or uncooperative, ask
yourself if something might be bothering me. Perhaps I'm not,b getting the right food, I have been in the sun too
long, or my heart might be getting old or weak..
9. Please take care of me when I grow old. You too, will grow old.
10. On the ultimate difficult journey, go with me please. Never say you can't bear to watch. Don't make me face this alone.
Everything is easier for me if you are there, because I love,
you so.

Take a moment today to thank God for your pets. Enjoy and take good care of them.

Life would be a much duller, less joyful experience without God's critters.

We do not have to wait for Heaven, to be surrounded by hope, love, and joyfulness. It is here on earth and has four legs!

Dear Rep. Lothian
My name is Jan Bessel
and I am one of the Co/founders of Justice 4 Halfpint. After a
conversation with Rep. Albers about a week ago sheryl informed us
that you would take the justice 4 Halfpint bill to the
floor. Is this correct?? I will be sending you an updated
packet on Justice 4 Halfpint to your office in Madison today.
Is there anything more we can do or is there anymore
information you made need?? I have Cced Jenny Brown from the
HSUS with whom I have been working with on this.

In the packet is a Draft potential Legislation for the bill
but it has been suggested some of the wording be changed
Jenny and myself would like to help you with this so the
bill will pass this coming session. I would be willing to take
a meeting if it would help. Thank You for your time.

MEMORIALS

HalfPint's MOTTO Is=A Pet has but one goal in life, that is to bestow their HEART.

It never seems to stop amazing me to what lengths
True pet owners with go to honor the life of a
beloved pet.

Halfpint's life was cut short, but
almost one year later he has not been forgotten.
He has touched the hearts of many along this
Journey for a PET FACILITY LIC. BILL or what we
hope will be called THE JUSTICE 4 HALFPINT BILL.

In your Quest to find inner Peace after the loss
of a beloved pet, I have compiled the following links to
assist you along that path. May they ease some of The
sadness and may tears of happiness flow as all those
treasured memories replay in your mind of
days gone by.

Pet Prayers

TOMB STONE

St. Francis Of Assisi's Prayer For the Animals

God Our Heavenly Father, You created the world to serve humanity's needs and to lead them to You. By our own fault we have lost the beautiful relationship which we once had with all your creation. Help us to see that by restoring our relationship with You we will also restore it with all Your creation. Give us the grace to see all animals as gifts from You and to treat them with respect for they are Your creation. We pray for all animals who are suffering as a result of our neglect. May the order You originally established be once again restored to the whole world through the intercession of the Glorious Virgin Mary, the prayers of St. Francis and the merits of Your Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ Who lives and reigns with You now and forever. Amen
