We are Marquette women's team located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. We are a competitive team with an emphasis on learning the game and having a good time. If you are interested in playing or want to learn more about this amazing sport, feel free to contact us or come to practice. We are always looking for new women to play! NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY!

Marquette Ultimate officially became a club sport in fall 2000, but it has taken awhile for the women's team to get off the ground. In Spring 2004, five women traveled to Sectionals. In Spring 2005, Marquette Ultimate had it's first-ever full women's team compete in Sectionals. In Spring of 2007, the Marquette women competed in College Regionals for the first time and took 10th place. In this past Spring season of 2009 Moxie took 7th in the region!!! As of right now, we are growing exponentially and are looking forward to an awesome season this Fall.

We have a great group of returning girls from last year as well as new girls who are showing a ton of potential so far. It should be a great semester with all this talent heading all around the Midwest for tournaments this fall!

Spring 2009 Recap:

High Tide
March 10-12
Jekyll Island, GA

Spring Break ’09 lived up to its potential both on and off the field. When we weren’t playing ultimate, we soaked up some rays, swam in the ocean and won the party every night.

On the field we finally discovered our chemistry as a team that we had been working so hard to achieve throughout the year! The first day of the tournament we went undefeated and the flow on the field was truly unprecedented. Going into Day 2 we were amped to keep our momentum going. We didn’t disappoint and the highlight of the day was a close game against Case Western that proved we can take on more experienced teams. Most exciting of all, Moxie made it into the championship bracket for the first time ever at High Tide!!! The final day of the tournament we put up a good fight against William & Mary but lost 7-10.

Chicago Invite
March 21-22
Chicago, IL

Still on our Georgia high, we were ready to take on teams from all over the Midwest for a great weekend of ultimate in Chicago. We had uncharacteristically warm weather for March so we didn’t go through immediate spring break withdrawal. Saturday we played our game and won our first four matchups. Unfortunately we forfeited a cross-over at the end of the day that may have sent us into the championship bracket for Sunday. With fire in our bellies we won all our games Sunday and took 9th out of 18 teams. Congratulations to our men’s team who won the Open division!

Sectionals
April 18-19
Whitewater, WI

After a month’s break from tournaments and countless practices we were excited to put our skills to the test for the college series. We sported our new jerseys with Adam’s face as our logo. And did I mention we looked hot? Moxie placed 3rd overall-- Good all around effort ladies!

Regionals
April 25-26
Northfield, MN

Knowing what we had to work on after Sectionals, practices became more frequent and focused. Seeded 6th in a very competitive region we were ready to have our hard efforts pay off! With an extra bid to nationals up in the air we weren’t quite sure what to expect. The weather held up on Saturday and the highlight of the day was a good game against Carleton who eventually went on to qualify for nationals. On Sunday all hell broke loose with wind, rain and cold temperatures. Despite the conditions we went on to take 7th in the region. What a great season moxie! I can’t wait to see what next year holds in store for us!!!
