This is to represent the Goddess's three aspects;maiden, mother, crone. Take three lengths of cord/string,preferably hemp or cotton, that will wrap around your wrist loosely twice.Knot at one end to represent the Maiden.Start braiding until you reach the center and make a knot for the Mother.Continue braiding until you reach the end and then make a knot for the Crone.Tie this around your wrist or ankle to complete the bracelet(the cycle of life). ![]() Wheel of The Year Candle This takes a whole year to make. You could actually do this in a year and a day....How symbolic!I recently had the idea and started mine on Mabon. You have to save some of the wax from the candles you used on each Sabbat and keep them in a special place for the whole year. As each Sabbat passes, add the next piece of wax.Since you used them for the Sabbat rituals, they have more power.Once the wheel of the year has made a complete cycle, melt the wax from the eight Sabbats together. Pour the melted wax into a candle mold,or cut a plastic cup in half;add a wick to the bottom of the cup and pour in the wax. Place it in the freezer to harden quickly.Keep it in your sacred space to bring a wonderful coming year. You could also do this with wax from the 13 full moons in a year. ![]() Incense Recipes

These were used to draw sigils or write out spells on paper. They can be used whenever you want to intensify a spell. If burning a candle, write out your objective on a small peice of paper and place it under the burning candle. If doing a spell that calls for burning the paper, this ink will strengthen what you are writing. Some magicians use a magical alphabet, rather than the everyday one. The making of perfumed ink is quite easy. Simply purchase a bottle of ink, either black or colored, and add two or three drops of the appropriate essential oil to the bottle. Let the bottle of ink sit on your altar overnight. This is best done on the Full Moon for positively charged inks, on the Dark Moon for negatively charged inks. Scottish Shortbread 1 1/2 cp all purpose flour 1 cp butter 1 1/2 cp sifted powdered sugar Sift the flour and sugar into a medium size bowl. Cut in the butter until mixture is crumbly. Work the dog into a ball w/your hands and knead for 10 min. Pat the dough into a 1/4" thick rectangle, 14" x 12", on a large ungreased cookie sheet. Cut into 2" squares or diamonds w/ a sharp knife. Decorate w/ colored candies, if desired. Bake at 300degrees for 45 minutes or until firm and lightly golden. Recut the shortbread at the marks and separate very carefully. Handle w/ extreme care! Remove from pan to wire rack. Store with waxed paper between the layers in a container w/ a tight-fitting lid. If stored for a few weeks, this shortbread mellows to a delicate delicious taste. Corncopias and Cornets Originally used by the Greeks for decoration. A great Yule-time craft! A large one can be made by rolling a sheet of fairly stiff paper into a cone shape and taping the edges. Then lay it on it's side and fill it to overflow w/ candies, fruits, and small decorations. If you embellish it with lace, trim, ribbon and/or gold foil, it makes a beautiful centerpiece. Small cornets, or cones, can be made as the same way and used as tree decorations. Attach a strip of ribbon to the open top on opposite sides for hanging. These can gold small gifts, candies, etc. Jasmine Cologne 1 pint distilled water 4 oz alcohol 1/4 tsp cinnamon 1 drop bergamot oil 1 oz glycerin 1 tsp vanilla 2 drops jasmine oil Cherokee Dream Pillow The following mixture is stuffed into a small pillow that is placed under your regular pillow or next to your head while you sleep. Besoms, or round-shaped brooms, are deeply linked to Witches and their magick, both in popular fantasy and in actual practice. Brooms were one of the "safe" tools of Witchcraft, meaning they were a necessary household object that could not be held up as evidence of Witchcraft in the clerical courts. Brooms are used as wands to focus and direct energy, to sweep areas clean of negativity, to ground a finished circle, and to protect hearths and kitchen magick. Two crossed brooms were used in medieval Ireland to prevent negativity from entering homes through the fireplace or front door. FIRST . . . you must obtain a 3 to 4 foot stick or dowel, 1 inch in diameter. This shaft can be painted or decorated. You will also need a small bundle of straw or broomcorn, approximately 16 to 20 inches long and some utility twine, about 2 to 3 feet. NEXT . . . Lay the broomcorn or straw up against the bottom shaft of the stick. Cut straw approximately 4 to 6 inches longer than desired finished length. NEXT . . . Approximately 2 inches above the end, tie twine tightly around straw and broom handle. You may wish to apply some craft glue to the lower 2 inches to help secure loose straw ends. AND THEN . . . Bend the straws backwards over the tie. Secure with twine close to where the broom handle sticks out. Besoms are great gifts for home decoration, magical protection, or both! Dream Pillow: 8 parts dried Mugwort leaves, 4parts dried Rose petals, 4 parts dried Mint leaves, 1 part whole Cloves. Combine all ingredients and tie into a cloth bundle or use to stuff a small pillow or sachet'. Place the dream pillow where you can smell it while you sleep. This is said to promote vivid dreams and clear recall. THE WITCHES ALPHABET/THEBAN
A Witches Alphabet is a script used by some Witches as a secret alphabet, this one has also been called the Theban script. The Witches'alphabet was popular in the craft community during the 1960's and 1970's,but was gradually replaced by Germanic and Celtic runes sometime in the mid-1980's.A few traditions still employ this old alphabet, although it is definately not the only magickal alphabet used today. ![]()
