These are the types of blankets we are able to accept. These guidelines have been set by the Project Linus Headquarters.

DO...

* Make blankets from NEW, CLEAN, WASHABLE materials in infant, child and teen friendly colors. Remember, these blankets are meant to be colorful, cheerful and cuddly.

* Crochet, knit, quilt or tie blankets --or finished the edge on polar fleece.

* Make blanket from cotton or cotton blend fabric, flannel, polar fleece or acrylic yarn.

* Secure the batting into outer seams and if the blanket is tied, please anchor it every 4 - 6 inches, cutting ties to 1 inch or less in length.

* Weave in all yarn ends on crocheted and knitted blankets.

*Check your blanket carefully for straight pins. It's better you find that pin and not the children who receives your blanket.

* Pre-wash all fabric that you feel may cause a problem with bleeding.

* Provide your name and address with your blanket.

DON'T...

* Don't make your blankets out of tapestry, burlap, uphlostry, 70's type double knit, felt, vinyl, wool, holiday fabric or wool. Also please do not donate these types of fabrics and yarn.

* Don't attach buttons or decorative items to blankets. They can be a choking hazard.

* Don't use thick fabric paint on the surface of the blanket. Use ONLY permanet FABRIC markers made specifically for fabric when coloring muslin.

*Do not use fabric that has been stores in a damp area and has a musty smell. The mold spores can cause a allergic reaction in a child and are very difficult to remove from fabric.

PLEASE NOTE...

* Blankets that smell strongly of smoke or chemicals ( including perfumed fabric softner ), cannot be accepted as they may produce a sever allergic reaction in the children. Unfortunately, washing these blankets does not alwasys remove the problem. Please use a lint brush or roller on you blankets if they are covered with thread or lint!

* Another word about pins... PLEASE check, double check and triple check you blankets for straight pins. Tags usually seperate from the blankets when they are transported leaving a lost pin just waiting to poke a child.PLEASE use only safety pind to attach notes to quilts.

* Blanket Sizes ( measurements are approximate )

Preemie blankets- 24" X 30"

Baby blankets- 30" X 36"

Toddler blankets: 36" X 40"

Child blankets- 40" X 54"

Teen blankets- 45" X 60" to 50" X 72"

* Be Creative! Keep in mind that children will be selecting a blanket with which to cuddle and receive comfort.
