The trail system for our area is being worked on as you read this. One area of concern is part of the trail from south of Portage, north side of the railroad tracks on Hwy 51/16 to North Star Road. There will be a few changes, so please stay on the trail. This trail, or matter of fact, any trail could be closed if people go off to get in the "NEW" snow.

Trail WILL NOT be open before December 15th due to late deer hunting season.

About US 

Our club was first incorporated on November, 26, 1975.
We hold our monthly meeting every third Wednesday from September to March. Starting at 7 pm at Crestwood Inn, just three (3) miles South of Portage on Hwy 51 & 16.

Our membership has over 25 families and membership fees are $15.00 per family or individuals. This includes membership into AWSC, also the magazine The Wisconsin Snowmobile News, an informative magazine published 8 times per year including articles of interest to snowmobilers, activities of clubs across the state. Membership runs from Sep 1 to August 31.

Snowmobile Safety Class
Snowmobile Education Classes will be held at the Portage Rod & Gun Club - starts on Dec 4, 2008 (Tues) & Dec 11, 2008 (Thurs) at 6 p.m. - Contact/Notes: Alex Swanson, 608-429-3842 / FIRST 30 PEOPLE; MUST CALL TO ATTEND (Columbia County)

New Requirement: All WI Recreational Safety Students are required to obtain a WI DNR Customer ID Number before the completion of any Recreational Safety Class and will also be required to provide that WI DNR Customer ID Number along with students personal information to the instructor. You can obtain a WI DNR Customer ID Number 7AM to 10PM by calling the WI DNR Customer Service at 1-888-936-7463 or you can visit a WI DNR Service Center during their regular scheduled hours. For WI DNR Service Center hours and locations go to dnr.wi.gov/org/caer/cs/ServiceCenter.. Thank you.

 
Who is eligible to take a class Classroom Instruction Anyone is eligible to take the class and receive a safety education completion certificate. For children under 12 years of age, the certificate does not become valid until the child reaches 12 years of age. Go to the Snowmobile Age Requirements page for additional details. Class fee is $10.00.
