The Wisconsin State USBC Women's Bowling Association awards local bowlers that roll the high game, high series and maintains the highest average in their association. The bowler must be a member of the Wisconsin State USBC WBA to qualify for these awards.Holly Milz captured all of the awards this year, the High Average, High Series and High Game.
Holly Milz carried the highest average for the women with a 227 for 90 games in the Women's City league at RiversEdge Bowl. She also carried a 219 average for 96 games in the Monday Night Funsters league at El-Ra Bowl. She earned the high series and high game on December 15, 2009 in the Women's City League when she bowled an 823 series with games of 258, 267 and 298. After filling out all of the paperwork for her awards, Holly left the center without telling anyone that it was her birthday. WOW, What a way to celebrate.
Jessica Breidenstein shot a 300 game but she shot in the Wisconsin State USBC Women's Bowling Association Championship tournament. Since it wasn't bowled on any of our lanes it does not qualify for the association award but she did receive a nice award from the state and will be invited to the annual convention to tell delegates about her experience.
In the 2009 season, the highest average was a 239 and that was held by Jamie Jones over 87 games in the Tuesday morning Wiggy's Saloon league at RiversEdge Bowl. He also carried a 229 and a 228 averages in two other leagues at RiversEdge Bowl.
Paul Burkholder shot four (4) perfect games last season and couldn't remember which leagues he shot them in. One was definitely shot in the Tuesday Stokes Pub league at RiversEdge Bowl, 1 was shot in the Thursday Brown's Oil league at El-Ra Bowl followed by another on Sunday in the Sunday Night Mixed league at El-Ra Bowl. That information was provided by his teammate, but Paul added that he is pretty sure he actually shot 2 at RiversEdge. Since he only bowls in those 2 centers he is pretty safe in saying 2 at RiversEdge and 2 at El-Ra. Great job Paul, I wish I had that problem!
One of our youth teams, Larry's Barber Shop from RiversEdge Bowl earned a USBC honor by bowling the highest game and highest series for 5 boys in the entire nation. The high game was 1,253 and the series was 3,424.
