Annual Meeting
Please make note that the 2012 Wisconsin State USBC WBA Annual Meeting has been moved to the Ho-Chunk Hotel and Convention Center in Baraboo, Wisconsin.
Soon it will be time for the 2012 Annual Meeting of the Wisconsin State USBC Women’s Bowling Association. This year the Annual Meeting will be held March 10, 2012 at the Ho- Chunk Hotel and Convention Center, S3214 Cty. BD, Baraboo, WI, 53913. Once again there will be a luncheon and dinner on Saturday for our delegates and guests. All delegates and guests are welcome to attend but tickets must be purchased in advance. Purchased tickets can be picked up at the delegate registration table. A ticket order form will also be sent to each delegate in the event they must purchase their own. Ticket orders plus cost of tickets must be received by the WS USBC WBA office prior to February 27, 2012. We are required to give the Convention Center a count of expected attendance at least two weeks prior to the Annual Meeting. Checks can be made to the order of WS USBC WBA and mailed to 1794 Allouez Ave. Ste. D, Green Bay, WI 54311. Luncheon Information and Menu: The Ho-Chunk Convention Center cost for the luncheon tickets is $11.99 including gratuity. WS USBC WBA will be selling these tickets for $12.00. The menu for the luncheon will include: Smoked Turkey Wrap (large tortilla filled with shaved turkey, bacon, sliced tomato, cheddar cheese, shredded lettuce, bistro sauce) and pasta salad, includes fresh brewed coffee, milk, soda and iced tea. Dinner Ticket Information and Menu: The convention center cost for the dinner tickets is $20.39 including gratuity. WS USBC WBA will sell these tickets for $20.00. The menu for the dinner will include: Two meat buffet (roast beef and honey baked ham), Salad Bar which includes Mixed Greens, 3 dressings and 6 Salad Toppings, Casino vegetable mix (carrots, broccoli & cauliflower), garlic mashed potatoes and dinner rolls, and includes milk, coffee, tea or can of soda. Cost of meal is $16.99 plus 20% tip = $20.39. Tickets will sell for $20.00. The chef will provide a cup cake for dessert. Ho-Chunk Hotel has rooms blocked for the WS USBC WBA Annual Meeting delegates. Room rates will be $99.00 plus $10.40 state and county tax for up to 2 people per room with an additional $10.00 for each additional person. There will be a $5.00 transient tax added to the cost of each room. It is not an exempt tax because it is related to tribal affairs. Please remember to have your delegates bring your association’s tax exempt number with them or they will be charged state and local taxes on your room. Earlier information may have indicated 4 per room. This information has been changed by the hotel sales group as is the transient tax information. Reservation can be made by calling (800) 746-2486. Please mention you are with the Wisconsin State WBA2012 when making reservations. Please remember to bring your tax exempt number with you for the hotel expenses. Taxes will be charged without it. On Friday evening there will be a hospitality room from 8:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. for all guests and delegates. The WS USBC WBA board members will be available for a meet and greet. The Social will be held in the Executive Suite.
The Nominating Committee met on November 19, 2011. The committee members in attendance included Jill Tank, Portage, Alice Woodward, Baraboo and Janice Wendt, Kenosha. We the Nominating Committee present the following slate of candidates for election to the Wisconsin State USBC WBA Board of Directors. Bylaws: Article V. Section B. Eligibility 1. A USBC member in good standing of the association at the time of election and throughout their term.
2. Elected or appointed without regard to race, color, religion, gender, disability, national
origin, or age, other than the minimum age of 14 years, unless state laws mandate a
specific age and be reasonably representative of the membership. “Gender” does not
apply to WBA. Additional eligibility requirements, if any, will be developed by the Nominating Committee to be approved by the WBA delegates. 3. A local association shall have no more than two of its members serving on the Wisconsin State USBC WBA board of directors. 4. Must not be bowling in any uncertified American tenpin leagues. 5. For the office of president she must currently be a member of the WWBA/Wisconsin State USBC WBA board of directors, having served no less than two years as a member of the board of directors prior to nomination. Year of nomination will not be included. 6. For any of the other elected officer’s positions a candidate must have served no less than two years as a member of the WWBA/Wisconsin State USBC WBA board of directors prior to nomination. Year of nomination will not be included.
Article IX
Section A. Eligibility
If a member is elected to represent more than one association to attend the same meeting, the
first election shall stand and any succeeding election shall be declared null and void.
