WISCONSIN STATE (USBC) WOMEN’S BOWLING ASSOCIATION TOURNAMENT RULES – READ CAREFULLY
1. This is a handicap tournament consisting of a 4-member Team event, Doubles Event, Singles Event and optional 9 game All Events. Handicap will be based on 95% of 235 average. There will also be optional scratch cash pot for 4-member Team, Doubles, Singles and All Events. All participants who have entered and paid the fees for the regular tournament may enter any or all of the optional cash pots by payment of the optional fees. Fees will be $5.00 per person, per cash pot. To enter Team Scratch, all team members must enter. To enter Doubles Scratch, both partners must enter. Any participant may enter Singles and All Events Scratch. Cash prizes will be awarded. 2. All entries will be received in accordance with rules of the Wisconsin State USBC WBA. All entrants must be members of USBC, a local association within the jurisdiction of WS USBC WBA and WS USBC WBA (state) association. Associate membership fees will be available for $10.00 USBC, $1.00 state, and cost of local dues from a local association within the jurisdiction of WS USBC WBA.
3. Entrant shall submit highest USBC certified league average in the following order: 4. Averages listed in local association printed average books will be recognized as official. Average verification requests must be received within 10 days of participation in tournament or scratch figure will be used. (See USBC Rule 319a (3). USBC RULES 319a (2) (10 pin rule), 319c (Average rerating), 319d (Prize winnings) and 319e (Average adjustment for entry) do not apply. The ball delivery used in competition must be the same as that used in establishing the entering average. 5. All WS USBC WBA Championship Tournament participants shall be allowed to participate MORE THAN ONCE in the TEAM EVENT but only once per squad. At least two (2) players in the lineup must be different. When a bowler competes more than once, her first appearance in the team event shall count toward her all events score. Entrants are allowed to bowl only once in Doubles & Singles Events. 6. Anyone entering Doubles must also enter Singles Event; the same applies to Singles. (Doubles entries accepted in pairs only). 7. Entries must be accompanied by full amount of fees ($18.00 per bowler per event). Entry fees can not be refunded after entry has been received and team notified of assigned dates unless written request from captain is received by WS USBC WBA within two weeks of the confirmation letter date. 8. Deadline for reserved entries must be postmarked on or before December 15th. Late entries will be accepted with a $20.00 processing fee based on availability. Entry form and money must be in office two weeks prior to scheduled bowling date. NOTE: Overpayments of $5.00 or less will not be refunded. 9. All Events are optional and can be entered for a $5.00 fee. Payment will be accepted prior to bowling your first event. Singles average will determine the division of participation. Paid All Events are not transferable unless a substitute replaces original entrant in all three events and the substitution is made before the individual involved has participated in any of the events. 10. Substitute must take the place of absent bowler in line-up. Substitute is not required to reimburse original entrant with entry fee nor is she expected to give any prize money or award she might win. A bowler replaced during a game may not return during that game. In team and doubles events only, an available sub shall be allowed to take the place of a bowler who is unable to continue and the division will be refigured. If sub is unavailable, only actual scores of frames bowled shall count. A team member can not move from one team to another on same squad. Non-compliance shall result in disqualification of bowler. 11. Rearranging of line-up will not be permitted. Bowlers will bowl in the order in which the entry was received in the WS USBC WBA office. 12. Each entrant must have a bowling ball for her individual use for the tournament. 13. Teams will bowl all three games on their scheduled pair of lanes. Doubles and Singles Events – doubles will be bowled on the set of lanes assigned; singles will be moved to next assigned set for 3 games. 14. No resin or foreign substance will be allowed on lanes, runways or used on a ball or on a bowler’s shoes. A violation of this rule may result in disqualification. 15. Any player or team arriving late shall begin play and the score shall count beginning with the frame then being bowled. The partner of a late Doubles entrant shall bowl her singles event first. If partner has not arrived at start of Singles Event and a sub has not been found, the entrant present may bowl her doubles event in order to qualify for All Events score. 16. A bowler who misses one frame or more by not being present and ready to bowl when it is her turn will receive zeros for frames missed. 17. Unopposed team must bowl complete frame on one lane before starting next frame on adjoining lane. Pacers are not allowed. 18. Tournament games cannot be re-bowled except as authorized by the tournament manager when scores are irretrievably lost in the scoring process. 19. Medals will be given for scratch and handicapped score in each event and each division. Duplicate medals will be given in the event of ties. 20. No food, beverages or smoking will be allowed in the playing area. The use of cell phones during bowling will not be allowed. 21. Tournament bowlers who do not have their current membership card at team check-in will be asked for a $1.00 donation. 22. The tournament is under the management of the WS USBC WBA Board of Directors with the WS USBC WBA Association Manager as Tournament Manager. The WS USBC WBA Board of Directors has the power to hear and act on disputes, complaints or protests relating to the tournament. The decision of the board is final except when an appeal is made to USBC.
