Psalm 96:3 “Declare His glory among the nations, His marvelous deeds among all peoples.”
In September 2001 the White Hall Church of Christ near Fairmont, WV assumed the oversight of an extremely productive mission work in the states of Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh, India. Brother Harry Summers of Woodsfield, OH is the American director of this program and Brother N. B. Sundara Rao of Chennai is the corrdinator in India. The thirteen native missionaries listed above are financially supported to preach the Gospel to the lost and minister God’s Word to congregations of the church on a full-time basis. Many other Indian preachers are associated with us in this work though we are not able to financially support them on a regular basis nor do we report the success of their efforts in this newsletter. Benevolent help for a leper village in Channai ($275), preacher-training seminars ($175), the purchase of bicycles ($50) and salaries for our native missionaries ($2230) are what the $2730 sent to India each month provides. Other congregations financially assisting White Hall on a monthly basis are Mount Carmel, IL; Barbour, WV; Grayville, IL; Marysville, OH; New Concord, OH; Bush, OH; Bates Hill, OH; Griffithsville, WV and Meadowbrook, WV. In addition to these nine congregations there are also thirty-one individuals/families currently contributing to the work. Nineteen of the thirty-one individual/family contributors are members of the White Hall Church of Christ. An additional $1000 per month and $4000 every other year is provided by the overseeing congregation to take care of additional expenses involved in this work..

224 BAPTISMS REPORTED FOR 1 MONTH
In the most recent field reports from twelve of our thirteen native missionaries 224 precious souls were baptized into Christ in a one-month span of time. That’s pretty good work for a dozen Gospel preachers. These responses took place as a result of Gospel meetings, personal evangelism and preaching at the normal worship services of congregations where our men work.

EXCERPTS FROM SOME OF OUR FIELD REPORTS

AVAILABLE FOR PRESENTATIONS
I am available to come to your congregation and make a power point presentation of the work we are doing in India. If your congregation is already a contributing church this would be a great way to show the members how their mission dollars are being used. If your congregation is not yet contributing to this work it would be a wonderful way of showing them how they could become a part of one of the most effective missionary efforts in our brotherhood. Just give me a call (number at top of page) and we will set up a time, at your convenience, for me to come and make the presentation.

WE NEED YOUR HELP
The Lord’s Kingdom is advancing more rapidly, in the area of India that we are working in, than in any other place in the world right now. Just a little over forty years ago the Church of Christ was nonexistent in India. What I consider to be a very reliable source now reports that there are approximately 60,000 congregations of the church of Christ, over 30,000 native Gospel preachers and more than 2 million living faithful members of the Lord’s church in India. There are more New Testament Christians and churches of Christ in India than any other nation of earth, including the USA. However, the population of India is over one billion so true New Testament Christians barely represent a fraction of a percent of the people in that crowded land. The poverty level of the average member of the church is such that there is little or nothing left to contribute on Sunday after expenses for the absolute necessities of life have been spent. Even large congregations are seldom able to support a full-time preacher. That’s why American Christians and congregation of the church of Christ must provide the financial support for most of the full-time native evangelists in India. This is the main thrust of the White Hall Church of Christ’s India Missions Program. We presently support 13 native preachers but we have dozens more who have been trained in brotherhood preaching schools and are ready to go into full-time work if we could just provide them with a mere $100 or so each month. Will you help us? Just start sending a monthly check made out to the White Hall Church of Christ and earmark India Missions on the memo line. You can send it to either of the addresses on the top of the page of this newsletter. There’s no amount that would be too small or too large. Ten dollars a month would result in at least one more soul being saved and $100 would bring no less than 10 more people to Christ. These are the most receptive people in the world to the pure Gospel of Christ. We just need to get the message preached to them and your contribution will help accomplish that to the glory of God.

MANY FAITHFUL INDIA MISSION WORKS GOING ON IN OUR BROTHERHOOD
I would never want to leave the impression that ours is the only good mission work going on in India. Many other congregations of the Lord’s church re overseeing programs that are resulting in thousands of souls being saved and hundreds of new congregations being established in India. White Hall’s program is certainly not the largest either. I read in one of Brother Ron Clayton’s newsletters recently that the work he’s doing under the oversight of the Central Church of Christ in Cleburne, TX requires a $4000 per day budget. I received additional newsletters and reports about smaller programs that are being very productive also. I praise and thank God for every one of them.

MISSSIONARY JOURNEY
Lord willing, I will leave for my next trip to India in 2006. One of the White Hall Church of Christ elders (Jerry Summers) plans to accompany me on this trip. We will spend time with each one of our native missionaries holding them accountable for the work, which they have reported over the past year. We will visually inspect the proper use of all funds that have been sent to purchase bicycles, drill bore wells, build meetinghouses, etc. We will teach Bible classes to mature Christians and encourage the native preachers with which we are associated. The most important thing that will be accomplished during our one-month stay is preaching 45 to 50 Gospel Meetings. Many of those Gospel meetings will be the cooperative efforts of several congregations at one location. I may end up preaching to as many as 90 or so congregations and their evangelistic prospects during the month stay there. During my 2005 trip there were 730 responses for baptism at the Gospel meetings I preached. TO GOD BE THE GLORY FOR THE POWER OF HIS WORD! We will also be checking on those 730 convert to see how many of them have remained faithful to the Lord and His church over the last year. From past experience I think that we will find about 90% of them still faithful.

NEED HELP FUNDING 2006 TRIP
It takes $4000 to make my annual trip to India. That pays for the plan ticket, housing, food and travel expenses while there as well as providing for the cost of the Gospel meetings that I preach (rental of tents, PA systems, food for fellowship meals, etc.). I also like to be able to purchase things like Bibles, songbooks, communion ware and other things to help out congregations while I’m in India. Every other year (odd numbered years) the White Hall congregation has committed to providing the $4000 for my annual trip. This is an even numbered year coming up so I need to raise the $4000 from other sources. Could you or your congregation give a one time offering to fund part, or all, of my 2006 trip. I promise you that it would be the most productive money you ever invested in mission work. Possibly as many as the 730 souls that were saved during my last trip will come to Christ during the 2006 trip. Do the math and you will find that would be just a little more than a nickel for every soul saved. Please earmark your check to the White Hall Church of Christ with the words Harry’s India Mission Trip on the memo line.

Yours for reaching the lost of India,

Harry Summers
