Ilene Henderson Floyd
ILENE HENDERSON FLOYD - CLASS OF 1957
Ilene was preceded in death by her parents and an infant brother, Richard Henderson.
Ilene was a faithful member of Dueber United Methodist Church. She lived most of her life in the Canton/Perry Township area. She worked in the Stark County Sanitary Engineering Office, Stark County Commissioner's Office, and retired in 2004 from the Stark County Sheriff's Office after 30 years of dedicated service for the county.
Survivors include her loving husband of 47 years, Gary L. Floyd Sr. of the home; three adoring children, Gary Jr. (Karen) Floyd of Jackson Twp., OH, Diana (John) Vanicek of Louisville, OH, Jeffrey (Tommi) Floyd of Jackson Twp.; nine cherished grandchildren, Jordan, Noah, and Joshua Floyd; Jonathan, Kristen, and Logan Vanicek; Mackenzie, Morgan, and Riley Floyd; two sisters, Vivian Kark of Perry Twp., OH, Patty Ann (Claude) Amos of Seminole, FL; two brothers, Rodger (Karen) Henderson of Winter Haven, FL, Robert (Loretta) Henderson of New Philadelphia, OH; also survived by Tina Floyd of Jackson Twp., and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Special thanks to her two loving caregivers, Sandy and Judy. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her name to Dueber Church: 645 Dueber Ave. SW, Canton, Ohio 44706.
Funeral services will be conducted on Monday at 11 a.m. in the Dueber United Methodist Church with Dr. Chester Harris officiating. Burial will be in North Lawn Cemetery. Calling hours will be on Sunday from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. in the Reed Funeral Home Canton Chapel: 705 Raff Rd. SW, Canton, Ohio 44710, and one hour prior to the service on Monday from 10-11 a.m. in the church. The 50th Class Reunion Picnic 2008 was held at the Tennant Farm on Saturday, August 1 at 7:00 PM. We had good weather and everyone had a good time.
CLASS OF 1957
The class of 1957 had their 50th class reunion on August 17-18 and 19, 2007. They met on Friday night at Westchester Village for dinner, on Saturday everything happened at the Tennant pavilion, with a catered dinner there. On Sunday, they met again at the pavilion for a picnic.

I spoke with two of George Gerba's sisters at the Alumni Banquet. They said that George is walking with two canes part of the time. They think his feet and legs are damaged from the Agent Orange that was in Viet Nam.

I received word that Patty Dean Deistchle's sister, Sylvia (Class of 1960), passed away on July 7, 2007. She had brain and lung cancer.

Glenn passed away on Monday, July 23 at 11:00 PM. He went to school at Fairview and at one time lived on Robinson's Run. He married June McIntosh and they lived in Grant Town.

age 64, Kokomo, Indiana, died at 10:43 p.m. Wednesday, July 4, 2007. She was married to Elbert Junior Moran.

During the first part of May, 2005 Bob had another toe amputated as a result of his diabetes. He spent 13 days in the hospital and doing fairly well now.

Martha is back in the hospital (Tuesday, Nov. 3). She was to go to see her leg doctor yesterday but Wayne had to take her to the E.R. She had 2 pints of plasma
when she was admitted to the hospital to try to get
her blood thickened up and yesterday she was given
a pint of blood. She is home now but not doing well.
MARGIE EDDY FOX
Margie is doing better. The doctor put her on an
antibiotic and apparently that has helped. Of course
she still has the shortness of breath but thats another
problem. She had a kidney stone removed about a month ago, and she had not been well since.

BOB PARKER
Just got back from the Cleveland Clinic Florida near Ft. Lauderdale. Drove two hours down there about 3 a.m. Thursday morning to the
emergency room. Several hours later they gave me a catherization, angioplasty with a stent. That's my third stent after triple-by-pass.
JIM McKAIN'S MOTHER PASSED AWAY
Nellie Carroll McKain died on Tuesday (Sept. 1, 2009) at her home in Pfafftown, N.C. Mrs. McKain was born on Dec. 2, 1912, in Fairview. Arrangements have been entrusted to Ford Funeral Home.

Martha had surgery on her knee and is having a lot of pain...
They removed her knee joint and they are treating her infection. She is home now but not doing well.

Janice is starting to do a little better now.

They found 7 ulcers and they are going to treat it with medications. She is still very weak but is doing better.

Ivan C. Gum “B-Gum,” son of the late William Gum and Julia Howell Gum died on Saturday (Jan. 17, 2009).He was born July 6, 1918, in Norton, Randolph County.
Kester Kyle Tennant died on Saturday (Jan. 17, 2009). Kester was born on March 6, 1923, in Daybrook, son of the late Willie C. (Bill Steve) Tennant and Pearl Moore Tennant.

Helen White, 88, of Fairview, died Wednesday (Dec. 24, 2008). Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law and two daughters and sons-in-law, Robert S. and Marilyn White of Charleston, William S. and Sheila K. White of Warrenton, Va., Virginia and William Foley of Fairview and Janice and Leon Pryzbyla of Orem, Utah.
Cecil Heater, 72 of Mansfield, Ohio, died Wednesday (Dec. 3, 2008). Cecil was born in Fairview on Aug. 10, 1936, to Alton Russell and Audra Martin Heater. He is survived by his wife, Anna Rea Heater; two daughters, Brenda Heuer of Mansfield and JoAnn McCumber of Baltimore, Md., three brothers, Donald, Clifford (Paulette) and Russell Lane (Marie) Heater.
JAMES WOODROW SLOAN, 74 of Fairmont West Virginia died Monday, December 1, 2008. He was born June 28, 1934 in Fairview, West Virginia the son of the late Woodrow and Margaret C. VanMeter Sloan. He was preceded in death by his wife Margaret Emma Lee Wine Sloan who died January 4, 2006.
