We have learned that we are expected to arrive in Orlando at 8 am on Tuesday, April 6 and students are to be fully dressed and ready for the parade at 9 am. As soon as the itinerary is in concrete, we will forward that to you.
If you want payments for the trip made from the student account, please notify Lori McCracken by email. We must have your permission in writing before we can make your payments--a phone call will not suffice in this case. Please give Lori your account number so that funds are applied correctly.
Basket Bingo
We have received money for 13 baskets, but we still desperately need more baskets and more fill. We must have 25 baskets for a full evening of bingo--and the participants like those baskets to be filled. Please ask your doctor, dentist or lawyer to sponsor a basket, ask your hairstylists to sponsor some fill for the basket. If we don’t receive enough baskets and fill, the boosters will have to purchase the baskets and we’ll have to ask the different sections in band to provide fill for the baskets. If we all pitch in together it will make this an easy, enjoyable fundraiser.
Strawberry Sale
All band students have received strawberry order forms. They must be turned in to Vicki McLaughlin on or before February 24. The profit from the first five flats sold by each student will go to the General Fund. After you have sold five flats you will receive $4 from each full flat sold and $2 from each half flat sold. These berries sell themselves--all you have to do is to let people know that you’re selling them. They’re absolutely delicious and the strawberries that you buy in the store can not compare to these berries.
Next month is the boosters’ annual meeting at which we have our election for officers. We have two positions open: president and secretary. Robert Ellison has agreed to run for president and Teresa O’Brien has agreed to run for secretary. Please come out and support them in this endeavor.
Next year we will need a uniform coordinator and calling committee head. Vicki is unable to do the vice-president’s position and keep up with uniforms and LeAnn is a senior parent. Please let us know if you’re interested in either of these.
