Dear Friends,
We ask for your support of our annual fundraising event, “The Brassiere Bazaar.” Kaleidoscope, a non-profit, grassroots organization formed to champion and to comfort our local breast cancer patients, will host the third annual Brassiere Bazaar on October 14th, 2007 during Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Sponsors like you are necessary to underwrite the cost of the event so that all the money we raise can go to patient care.
If you haven’t heard, The Brassier Bazaar showcases bras created or reinvented by, primarily, local artists and icons at a dinner party held at a local establishment. The bras range from gorgeous to funny to wildly intelligent. This year, the bras will be displayed prior to the event at both Vittoria & Banks and at the Brooks Gallery of Fairmont State University, then modeled and sold in a silent auction concluding at the Bazaar. Additionally, prizes donated by members of our growing Kaleidoscope community will be raffled off during the evening. We have sold hundreds of bras in the past two years, some selling for over two-hundred dollars. The increasing enthusiasm for this event promises that this year’s Brassiere Bazaar will be our most successful. We’re counting on you to help us make sure every possible penny goes to the women who need it.
The funds raised by The Brassier Bazaar are used to promote breast cancer patients’ quality of life so that they are not only surviving but also living with physical and emotional comforts often preempted by medical costs. Kaleidoscope provides money for, among other things, wigs, massages, pedicures, and transportation that allow ease and autonomy during and after treatment.
Kaleidoscope’s current goal is to expand our service beyond Marion to include women in Monongalia and Harrison Counties as well. This creative, compassionate event has mobilized medical professionals as well as artists in the distribution of funds raised. We hope you’ll agree to sponsor this year’s Brassier Bazaar. If you are unable to sponsor, we welcome donations of gifts for our raffle—and of course, any bras you’ve made into art! Donations, bras, and checks can be sent to Kaleidoscope c/o Vittoria & Banks at 232 Adams Street, where tickets are available for purchase.
Thank you very much for your consideration!
Please support those companies that support Kaleidoscope.
