OPPORTUNITIES with the LVEP

APRIL 2008 - - - The LVEP is urgently seeking new tutors - we have students waiting for help. PLEASE CALL 264-0298

We'd also like to encourage community-minded individuals to serve on our Board of Directors. If you think you could help us to develop even greater support services to the Eastern Panhandle, please call or e-mail (see "Contact us here" on the lower right corner of this page.)

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES FOR NON-TUTORS

The LVEP can always use more volunteer help:

Resource Inventory Project: Our office at the Martinsburg library is overflowing with books, pamphlets, workbooks, audio tapes and other goodies. We'd LOVE to have some professional (or semi-professional) help to inventory, catalog, assess, and organize our resources for our tutors. Interested? Call Kelly at 264-0298.

COMMITTEE MEMBERSHIP: We always need help with staffing our Public Relations, Finance, and Program Committees. Committee responsibilities are described in our By-Laws (downloadable in the next section.) You don't have to be a Board member to help steer this organization in the right direction. E-mail Kelly at lvep@martin.lib.wv.us.

TUTOR INFORMATION
We offer free tutor training for those interested in volunteering with the LVEP. If you have a genuine interest in literacy and would like to work with us, please let us know. After the workshop you will be matched with a student of your choice. You and your student will meet once or twice a week for and hour or so depending on your schedules.
