Children's Respite WHAT IS RESPITE AND HOW CAN IT HELP MY FAMILY? The stresses of parenting can be overwhelming for all of us from time to time, especially if your child or teen has emotional or behavioral challenges. The Respite Program can help relieve some of those stresses. Respite is a FREE service available for families with children ages 4 to 18 with emotional and/or behavioral challenges. Respite is currently available through funding from the Mountain State Family Alliance and community contributions. Community-based Respite offers drop in centers where young people can participate in games and crafts with other kids their age in a supervised setting.
