Renaissance Artists Activity Renaissance Artist show their work in many Venues The entire Gallery is busy getting ready for our major show of the year, the 9th Annual National Miniature Exhibition. Each member has his or her area of responsibility to insure that our hosting of the best artists in miniatures come off well. There will be a gallery-sponsored reception for both the public and artists. At this reception, awards will be announced. This year the gallery is sponsoring 3 extra awards, to be selected by the visiting public. These People's Choice Awards will be announced at the end of the show, and awarded as the miniature are reclaimed by their proud creators. Ballots for these awards are available at the gallery only. Three Renaissance Gallery artists are participating in the Art-Gawk along 9th Street in down town Huntington. Yvonne Newman, Linda Helgason, and Susan Tschantz, all have work on display in various storefronts around Huntington. They have joined other area artists in brightening up the streetscape of downtown Huntington for the month of October with original art. Bruce Bowersock is leading the Saturday afternoon life drawing class at the gallery. Susan Tschantz is busy not only with teaching and Mentoring, but is taking part in the Great Sketch Book project II for Art House. This project is creating a library of Sketchbooks for future reference. Tamarack Bruce and Lillianne Bowersock are artists of the Tamarack, the arts and craft showcase for the state of West Virginia, located in Beckley, WV. There are also participants in Charleston’s Festivall 2009/ Many of the Artists of the Renaissance were a part of TSAA’s annual “Art in the Park” attracting a lot of attention. Linda Helgasson will exhibit in Lexinton Art Leaue Member's Open show, Which will run August 3-30 at Laudoun House, 209 Castlewood drive, Lexington, KY. The Antique store is located in the old Central City Area of Huntington. She also has a display at HIMG and The Snak Shac.
