Although the medium is small in size, the art is not small in its impact.
Many marvel at the skill of the artists to work so small and do such fine, detailed work. It is a tribute to their creativity that so many subjects and styles were represented..

The Putman Standard Recognizes our winners! With this article
This year our exhibition was judged by Michele Schiavone of Marshall University
I was impressed by and interested in the technique and subject matter of the pieces in this miniature show, and I am pleased to be part of it.
In judging the work, I considered the draftsmanship, composition, and the mood the piece evoked. All the pieces I have chosen show a high degree of quality in these areas. Some are realistic representations with much fine detail, while others have a more impressionistic look. However, each one is a well-executed, vibrant expression of the artist’s conception.
