This competition could be “mission impossible” or some of the most fun you have ever had trying to make art using only color complements. It will be an exciting show and one you will always remember! The color wheel describes the relationships between colors. It is laid out so that any two PRIMARY COLORS (red, yellow, blue) are separated by the SECONDARY COLORS (orange, violet, and green. These colors contrast each other in the most extreme way possible. They also help to make each other more active.

Figure drawing classes
have returned. Dispite the snow and bad weather we are determined to seem them through! Sessions are again be lead by Artist/member Bruce Bowersock.Interested people should contact the gallery. Because of limtted Space and increased demand, the Renaissance Gallery is looking into having a mid-week session in addition to the Saturday afternoon classes.

The Renaissance Art Gallery, a non-profit artist co-op is offering a range of Fine arts classes to the community. All classes are taught at the Renaissance Gallery located in the old High School, ground floor. Call the gallery for more information.

Spring is the time when young men's fancy turns.....Oh, different topic, Spring Fine Art Show has a challenge theme this year, one based on color and the artists knowledge and understanding of color and how it works as an element in composition.
Spring is the time when young men's fancy turns.....Oh, different topic, Spring Fine Art Show has a challenge theme this year, one based on color and the artists knowledge and understanding of color and how it works as an element in composition. This May, the Open Entry Spring Fine Arts Show will be about Color and its compliment. Artists are to choose any color and its compliment, and work with that in their artworks.

Beginning July 1 the Renaissance Art Gallery will be open Friday and Saturday from 12-4 pm, Sunday 1-4 pm.
Classes will remain at their scheduled times and the gallery will be open during those studio hours.

The Renaissance Gallery is an artist-run Gallery. There is always an artist on duty.
Dear Fellow Artist:
The gallery is a member-owned, member-run gallery. The Renaissance Gallery in Huntington WV opened in 2001 and has consistently won the hearts of everyone who visits. The showroom adjacent to the main gallery features a new theme-based show each month.
For artists ready for gallery representation, what could be better way than with a co-op gallery? Think how this will enhance your artistic resume! You will also be able to participate in month long shows and artistic challenges, thus building up your artistic “muscles.”
We would like to invite area artists to join us in our co-op showcase. A jury of active members considers new candidates for membership each month. All artists are invited to bring five artistic works, paintings, sculptures, ceramic works or such, display ready, to the gallery before the third Sunday of each month so it can be juried. This process takes about three weeks.
