Union Ridge Cemetery,INC                                   Welcome to the Union Ridge Cemetery website. The cemetery was incorporated in 1963, by Incorporator 1, A.E.Gebhardt and Incorporator 2, Harry Gebhardt. The land for the cemetery was donated by Mattie Stevens and Zach Nicely. The new land addition to the cemetery, the "Gebhardt section", was donated by Salton and Mary Gebhardt. The first directors was Harry Gebhardt, C.S(Chet)Rutherford, Ralph Caldwell, Willie Mae Miller, and A.E.Gebhardt. The first meeting of Board of Directors of the Union Ridge Cemetery was held in June 1964. The cemetery board is making plans to doze the property and add more grave sites.

News!  There will be a trial date on the cemetery in September 2008. Until then, no further news to report. Keep this problem in your prayers! We need this settled! No donations for upkeep of the cemetery are needed.Your perpetual care covers all mowing. Any questions about the cemetery can be answered by the board President Georgia Gebhardt.Thank you and God Bless!

Lot information
Anyone desiring to purchase a lot should contact a member of the Board of Trustees. They will quote prices and extend assistance in site selection.NO lot or part of a lot may be sold in unplotted ground. Lots are no longer sold without Perpetual Care.
  After burial policy
The Union Ridge Cemetery Board has adopted a policy concerning the care of the grave after burial. The removal and disposal of the flowers, filling in of dirt, and also for the straw and the sowing of grass seed. We have asked the funeral homes to charge a $25.00 fee for those families who DO NOT wish to come back to the cemetery and do it themselves. This $25.00 fee goes to the cemetery to cover this care.

Perpetual Care Information
Owners of lots without Perpetual Care are subject to yearly assessment for upkeep and maintenance. This yearly assessment is twenty dollars($20.00) per lot, assessment charges provide for ordinary care which includes only the cutting of grass. Assessment charges on these lots shall begin at the time purchased whether the lot is fully paid for or not. All assessments in arrears must be paid before a burial is permitted. Owners may put their lot under Perpetual Care anytime they elect by making a lump sum payment of one hundred, fifty dollars ($150.00)per lot plus any delinquent yearly assessments in arrears. Before placing their lot under Perpetual Care, owners must bear the cost of correcting faulty foundations that may exist under monuments or markers and establishing a good sod. Perpetual Care means maintaining the sod in good condition and cutting the grass at proper intervals. There will be no further cost to the present or future owners for this service.
