Marcus Daniels
Director/Choreographer/Show Design


Marcus Daniels is currently the Choreographer/Instructor for the Huntington High School Color Guard/Dance Team in Huntington, WV and the Choreographer for James Monroe High School Color Guard in Lindside, WV. Marcus is an associate member of Dance Masters, and has been a Choreographer/Instructor at Yvonne DeKay School of Dance in Ironton, Ohio, since 2005.

Marcus has 20 years of experience in the field of performing arts, including 6 years of Drum and Bugle Corps and 4 years of Winter Guard. He was a member of Speakeasy Winter Guard in Aurora Colorado 1992; Sundowners Winter Guard in Madison Wisconsin 1994; and a member of PresenTense Dance Company of Madison Wisconsin 1993-94.

Marcus began his teaching career in Denver, Colorado at Ponderosa High School (Color Guard Designer) 1995-97, Arapahoe High School (Winter Guard Designer) 1997, Eaglecrest High School (Visual Consultant) 1997, Rangeview High School 1997, Northglenn High School (Visual Consultant/Weapons Tech) 1997, and Broomfield High School (Color Guard Designer) 1999. He was also Color Guard Designer for Nova Winter Guard of Denver Colorado in 1999. Locally, Marcus has also served as the Minford High School Color Guard Instructor 1997-99, Guyan Valley High School Color Guard 1997-99, Marshall University Auxiliary Coordinator 1997-2004; and Hurricane High School Color Guard Designer in 2004. He is also an experienced color guard adjudicator judging various festivals throughout the tri-state area.

Marcus is very eager to help bring the winter guard sport to the Huntington area and is looking forward to an exciting 2010 season with Vertigo Winter Guard. You may contact Marcus at





Maurica Richardson
Co-Director/Choreographer/Technician


Maurica Richardson is currently the instructor and choreographer for the Marshall University Marching Thunder Color Guard. She has a combined history of 11 years of color guard and winter guard experience, including 9 years of rifle and 4 years of saber. After marching scholastic guard at the junior and senior high level, Maurica marched five years with the Marshall University Marching Thunder Color Guard, Huntington, WV. She was captain of the Marching Thunder Color Guard for three years, two of those years she also served as their choreographer. Maurica has also marched with Capital Regiment Drum and Bugle Corps, Columbus, Ohio, and Expressions Winter Guard, Winchester, Kentucky. She auditioned for and was accepted into a world winter guard for the 2007 season but was unable to participate due to scheduling conflicts.

Maurica has been the color guard instructor at Paul Blazer High School in Ashland, Kentucky, Huntington High School in Huntington, WV, and South Charleston High School, in South Charleston, WV. Maurica was previously the weapons technician for Hurricane High School in Hurricane, WV, and the weapons technician and choreographer for Reflections Winter Guard in Charleston, WV. Jeremy Richardson
Assistant Director/Visual Consultant/Staging



Jeremy Richardson is currently the assistant band director at Huntington High School and the choral director at Huntington Middle. Jeremy graduated from Marshall University with a BA in music education. He majored in trumpet and minored in guitar and is proficient in an assortment of instruments. In addition to writing and producing his own music, Jeremy has performed with many ensembles and has assisted with various marching bands in the area including the Marshall University Marching Thunder. He has written and produced the marching band show for the Huntington Highlanders for the past two seasons. Jeremy is known for his creativity in the area of general effect, both visual and music.
